Jogodo is the lead single from REAL, Vol. 1, the joint EP from Wizkid and Asake released January 23, 2026 under Starboy Entertainment, Giran Republic and EMPIRE. The single dropped a week early on January 16 as a surprise — no prior announcement, just the song and a tracklist reveal. Producer Magicsticks announced it himself on X: "REAL VOL. 1 BY WIZKID AND ASAKE, OUT NEXT WEEK. BUT FOR NOW, NO BE FOR HERE YOU GO 'JOGODO.' PRODUCED BY ME!"
The word jogodo in Nigerian Pidgin refers to being intoxicated or under the influence — but the song uses it more as a feeling of euphoria than a literal reference. The production is built on pulsing percussion and bold brass arrangements, something Magicsticks describes as a bridge between two eras of Afrobeats. Wizkid brings his refined global calm. Asake brings the high-octane street Fuji energy that made him one of the fastest-rising artists in Nigerian music history. The contrast is the point.

Wizkid & Asake – Turbulence (REAL Vol. 1 EP)In a Close Friends Only interview on Instagram, Wizkid told Asake: "Your sound is special, man. There's nobody that sounds like Asake. That right there is gold, nobody can take that from you." Asake returned the energy: "Nobody will ever be Wiz — he's so authentic." Jogodo sounds like exactly that conversation made into a record. Rating: 8.5/10.
