Kemuel – Ovah

Ovah is a single from Kemuel, released January 30, 2026 under Muse Studios / ONErpm — his first release of the year and the official opening of a new project cycle. Running 2 minutes 42 seconds and produced by his Wondah alter ego, it is the most emotionally direct record Kemuel has made to date: a first-person account of the confusion that follows a breakup that's technically over but hasn't emotionally resolved. Daily Independent's review described the track as documenting the messy middle stage where denial, grief and anger coexist — the version of a breakup where you're still calling her "baby," still checking her Instagram, still saying hurtful things not out of indifference but out of heartbreak, before the second verse forces the realisation that it really is "ovah."

Ovah has accumulated 392,000 Spotify streams and was placed on Apple Music's Afro-Soul Mix, Chill Afrobeats, Afrobeats in Spatial Audio, Africa Rising, Afro-Fusion and African Music in Spatial Audio playlists — six simultaneous editorial placements that confirm Apple Music's investment in Kemuel as one of the alternative Afropop voices worth watching. An official music video accompanied the release. Born December 7, 1999 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Kemuel has been building steadily since his Bunda collaboration with Spinall and Olamide in 2023, and Ovah — the most personal record he has shared publicly — positions the Wondah:Land era as a chapter of emotional honesty rather than genre experimentation for its own sake.

Rating: 8.5/10.
