Wizkid – Karamo

Karamo is track 2 on Morayo, Wizkid's sixth studio album released November 22, 2024 under Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records. It's a solo record — no features — which makes it one of the album's purest expressions of where Wizkid is as an artist right now. The title is Yoruba and carries connotations of someone who is calm, composed, and unbothered — a person who has seen enough to stop reacting and start moving with intention.

Coming directly after the album opener Troubled Mind, Karamo functions as the exhale. Where Troubled Mind sets the emotional weight of the project, Karamo releases some of that tension. The production sits in Wizkid's signature late-night groove — warm, unhurried, built for repeat listening rather than a single sit-down. Critics at Nigerian Entertainment Today specifically highlighted Karamo among the standout tracks on the album, noting its emotional and rhythmic depth alongside Pray and Kese.

Morayo as a whole was dedicated to Wizkid's late mother Jane Morayo Balogun, who passed away in London in August 2023. That context makes a song called Karamo — composed, unbothered, at peace — feel intentional rather than incidental. This is an album about grief, love and legacy, and Karamo is one of its quieter but more emotionally grounded moments. Rating: 8/10.
