Labour suspends nationwide strike!

In a significant development, organized labor has called off the nationwide indefinite strike that commenced on Tuesday, November 14. The decision to suspend the strike came hours after a crucial meeting between representatives of organized labor, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong.

The intervention of the National Security Adviser proved instrumental in resolving the impasse. Ribadu assured labor leaders that the government was committed to addressing their grievances and finding amicable solutions to the issues that sparked the strike. He further stated that the perpetrators of the attack on Nigeria Labour Congress chairman, Joe Ajaero, had been apprehended.

The suspension of the strike marks a positive step towards restoring normalcy and fostering continued dialogue between the government and organized labor.
