The seven-track project marks her first solo release since her 2024 debut album Born In The Wild, and was largely self-produced alongside contributions from GuiltyBeatz, AOD, Jonah Christian, Rob Bisel and London.
Marie Claire's review called Love Is A Kingdom an EP she's had on repeat since release, noting that Tems has never been a stranger to releasing important, impactful projects since her debut For Broken Ears in 2020. Album Talks described the new EP as Tems staying within her comfort zone sonically while still delivering the intimacy and vocal control that's defined her catalogue, with first sitting among the tracks that set the project's reflective, stripped-back tone.
