Glory is a post-album single from Victony — Anthony Ebuka Victor — the Lagos-born singer and songwriter who released his debut studio album Stubborn in June 2024. The original post described Stubborn as a 14-track album, which is correct. What makes the album significant beyond its tracklist is the story behind it. Victony was involved in a fatal car crash in April 2021 that killed one of his friends and put him in a wheelchair requiring surgery. He came back from that to release Soweto, which became a number one hit with remixes featuring Rema and Don Toliver, then built into one of the most praised Nigerian debut albums of 2024.

Bella Shmurda ft. Kunmie – SanityGlory as a title is not accidental coming from that background. The Native rated Stubborn 8.5/10, calling it "bold and reflective." Afrocritik called it "a breath of fresh air." For an artist who nearly lost his life and came back to make a critically acclaimed debut, a song called Glory is exactly the right next move. The production sits in Victony's familiar melodic Afropop space and the emotional weight behind the title makes it land harder than the same song from an artist without that backstory.
Rating: 8/10.
