SPORT: Premier League! Jose Mourinho Reveals Mistake He Made In Manchester United Scrappy Win Against Brighton

SPORT: Premier League! Jose Mourinho Reveals Mistake He Made In Manchester United Scrappy Win Against Brighton
Jose Mourinho has admitted he made a mistake that nearly cost him the game against Brighton on Saturday.
The former Chelsea boss said he played with too many attackers as Manchester United laboured to a slender 1-0 victory over Brighton at Old Trafford.
Ashley Young’s deflected shot in the second half separated both teams.
The Portuguese manger had Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Paul Pogba on the pitch.
Mourinho told reporters, “I wouldn’t be surprised if today some of the pundits say we play with too many attackers. I wouldn’t be surprised.
“But if they said that, I think they were right. Sometimes you play with too many attacking players and you lose control of the game.
“We had a few problems defensively because [Nemanja] Matic and Pogba, they were a bit isolated in the centre of the park.
“If you compensate that with more creation, that’s good, that’s a good risk. Against Newcastle, it was good because we were not very solid defensively but we were really strong in creation. Today our creation was poor.
“The three players that played with Lukaku, they didn’t get the ball, nor successful on the one against one. Marcus didn’t have a happy match at all. So we didn’t have creation.”
Mourinho admitted the performance was poor. “We didn’t play well.
“The good thing for me was the intensity was higher in the second half in search of the goal and then after the goal we couldn’t kill the game.
“In the last 20 minutes I saw a humble team with everybody trying to play for the clean sheet and giving everything, and people like Lukaku playing wide on the left and chasing defenders.
“So I am happy with the attitude but I have to praise a team and a manager who were playing in the Championship a few months ago, and they were the team who gave us the most problems.”

SPORT: ‘Tottenham Are Out Of The Title Race’- Manager Pochettino Says

SPORT: ‘Tottenham Are Out Of The Title Race’- Manager Pochettino Says
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has ruled his team out of the Premier League title race, after a 1-1 draw with West Brom on Saturday.
A goal from Salomon Rondon gave West Brom a fourth-minute lead at Wembley, before Harry Kane scored in the 74th minute to secure a point for Spurs.
The result means Pochettino’s side fall five points behind second-placed Manchester United, while leaders Manchester City will be 13 points ahead if they can beat Huddersfield Town on Sunday.
“Yes, it’s true now that the gap is 10 points and it’s massive in the Premier League,” he told reporters after the game when asked if his team were out of the race.
The coach continued to BBC Sport: “I think we are disappointed because the effort from us was massive but we conceded the goal so early in the game, and they had the belief to play deep, so it was hard for us to move the ball.
“In the last 15 minutes we increased our level and created a lot of chances to score but we weren’t clinical. It is always difficult in the Premier League when you concede a goal so early, it changes the way the team wants to play.
“We took a lot of risks trying to score and we didn’t concede many chances, they had the chance when they scored and one in the second half. The result is 1-1 and I’m disappointed because we lost two points. Now, we need to look forward now and try to win the next game.”

SPORT: Angry Liverpool Boss Klopp Accuses Chelsea Of Being Defensive In Draw Match At Anfield

SPORT: Angry Liverpool Boss Klopp Accuses Chelsea Of Being Defensive In Draw Match At Anfield
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has accused Antonio Conte of being defensive, as Chelsea held his team to a 1-1 draw in their Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday.

Mohammed Salah opened scoring for the Reds in the second half, but it was cancelled out by a late Willian goal.
“I think I need a little bit of time to be happy,” Klopp said in his post-match reaction.
“I’m happy about the performance, how we took the game. It’s a little bit more difficult when Chelsea played with eight defenders more or less.
“After a week like this (long trips away in the Champions League) we have both had, it was one of the better draws I’ve seen in my life.
“You need a bit of luck and we didn’t have it again. We wanted to change the system before the equaliser and the referee didn’t allow us.

SPORT: Osinbajo Reveals President Buhari’s Plan For 2018

SPORT: Osinbajo Reveals President Buhari’s Plan For 2018

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has outlined plans of the Buhari-led government for 2018.
He said this on Saturday at the graduation ceremony of the Senior Executive Course 39 of 2017 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS.
Osinbajo assured all sectors will witness government intervention and support, in order to further consolidate the improving state of the economy.
His speech read in part: “To start with, the Federal Government sees 2018 as a year of consolidation of the economic recovery, and the gains from improved macroeconomic management, and the extensive investments made in agriculture, infrastructure and the business environment. We are diversifying our options in power supply.
”Our programme of energizing industrial clusters has started. That project involves providing power in existing small business clusters. For our first batch, we will be providing independent power in certain markets; the Ariaria Market in Abia State, the Somolu Printing Community in Lagos State, the Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi (Sabon Gari) Market in Kano State. This power is independent power which will guarantee constant supply 24/7. We intend to take batch by batch some of this projects to encourage small businesses.
”Also we have provided in both the 2017 and 2018 budgets, funds for what we have described as the energizing education project. This involves providing independent power in the following universities in the first batch; the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi, Bayero University in Kano, Usumanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi, Federal University, Ndufu Alike, and Nnamdi Azikwe University in Anambra, University of Lagos, Obafemi Awolowo University and Teaching Hospital, Federal University of Petroleum in Delta State.
”Our emphasis going forward, will be on job creation, through scaling up of the social intervention programmes, to include artisans, but also through a massive construction effort with regard to homes and revitalization of the manufacturing sector.
”Jobs are central to our purpose for revitalizing the manufacturing sector. The focused attention we have given to promote agriculture will be replicated in the manufacturing sector. We recognise of course that electricity is critical for this sector and this is being continually addressed.
”We already have policies for the automobile and tomato processing sectors, and we will continue to fine-tune other sectoral policies. In addition, we are focused on ensuring the take-off of a Special Economic Zones in six geo-political zones, dedicated to textiles and footwear for exports, and on ensuring adequate, and affordable financing to enhance the operations of manufacturing concerns. We have already provided N80billion in the 2018 budget for this Special Economic Zones.
”Jobs are also the reason why we will be fast-tracking the implementation of the Family Homes Fund. It is an important programme for providing housing in the coming year. Our intention is to use this programme to create a large number of jobs in construction, and as well to promote widespread home ownership by providing affordable housing to be paid for through a sustainable mortgage financing system.
”The coming year, will see even greater movement to fully utilise the oil and gas value chain. The private investments in refineries, petrochemical plants, fertiliser factories will be complemented by more gas projects, especially critical pipeline infrastructure and greater penetration of LPG in the domestic market. The start-off of modular refineries in the Niger Delta is part and parcel of this work programme. Up to 35 communities and their investor groups, have reached the right to invest stage and three of them are already preparing to ship their facilities for installation.
”Our emphasis on supporting micro, small and medium scale enterprises, is largely because the sector is also critical for job creation. We will continue with the MSME clinics which are being followed up with the creation of one-stop shops for Federal Regulatory Agencies across all the States of the Federation. We will by this means reduce some of the costs and the regulatory obstacles that MSMEs face in trying to do their business. The MSME programme now goes hand in hand with the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme which provides micro loans to cooperative societies and artisans.
”Our recent experience has shown that Government revenues are quite low for the size of our economy and inadequate to fully meet related societal demands. Our total tax collection is just 6% of Gross Domestic Product, as compared to an African average of 17%. We are accordingly taking all necessary steps, to increase Government revenues through the Voluntary Assets and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS), excise taxes and improved collection of taxes.
”Government will also ensure better management of its resources, through cost efficiencies, automated payroll systems and leveraging of its assets to ensure better returns. The decision to reduce Federal Government holdings in Joint Venture operations, in a case in point. By this means, we will not only be raising revenues to help fund Federal and State budgets, we will in addition also be improving governance in the oil and gas sector.
”In a similar context, as the case of JAMB has shown there is substantial under-remittance to the Federal Government by its parastatals and agencies and we will be putting a stop to this using the results of a forensic audit being undertaken as well as greater scrutiny and oversight by the Economic Management Team.
”The infrastructure projects that I have mentioned will of course continue to be the focus of attention, until they are completed across power, roads, rail, airports and broadband infrastructure. The 25 road projects in all six geopolitical zones to be financed by the recently issued N100 billion Sukuk Bonds, will be closely monitored to ensure that they are delivered in good quality by the specified date.
”Our efforts to improve business conditions will continue apace. We must always bear in mind that the purpose of our efforts on the ease of doing business, is to promote the private sector and provide the right atmosphere for firms to operate profitably in order to grow the economy and provide jobs for the unemployed and those joining the labour market.
”Thus while we continue to bask in the improvements in our ranking, and the citation of Nigeria as one of the 10 best reforming economies in the world, we realize that our task is far from being done and will remain focused on the ERGP objective of being in the top 100 countries in terms of ease of doing business by 2020. Until the average Nigerian has food on his table, has a job and is satisfied with the life that he is living, we are far from preparing any kind of celebration.”

SPORT: ‘We Deserved To Win’- Chelsea Boss Conte Speaks On 1-1 Draw Against Liverpool
Antonio Conte said his Chelsea side deserved to win against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday
The Italian also said he has not spoken with Willian to know whether he was crossing the ball or intended to score when the Brazilian equalized for the Blues in the 85th minute.
However, the former Italian manager said he is focused on the positives of Chelsea’s display, less than 72 hours after they completed a 5,000-mile round trip to Baku to face Qarabag in the Champions League.
He told reporters, “I think for the whole game we had a really good performance. In the first half, we were very solid and always dangerous when we had the ball. In the second half we created a lot of chances.
“We conceded a goal maybe in the best moment for us, but then we found the strength for a great reaction. An amazing reaction from my players. I think we deserved to draw but maybe I think we deserved to win.
“I didn’t speak with [Willian] about the cross or if he tried to score in this way. But for sure we deserved to score, and we created many chances to draw and then to try to win.
“For sure it was a really good performance, great spirit and despite a long travel, despite no rest for my players. I’m very pleased for the spirit and the commitment that they showed in this game.”

SPORT: Champions League! Qarabag FC vs Chelsea on Wednesday, @6pm (Predict Here)
Chelsea can confirm their place in the Champions League knockout stage by beating Qarabag on Tuesday.
The Azerbaijan outfit were thrashed 6-0 when these two teams met in September but hold their own very faint hopes of a last-16 place after holding Atletico Madrid to back-to-back draws.
Antonio Conte is unlikely to rotate, especially with Michy Batshuayi and Charly Musonda still sidelined, but David Luiz will be hoping for a reprieve after being left out of Chelsea’s previous two games.
Team News
Qarabag welcome back Dino Ndlovu from a one-game ban, but will have to make do without Pedro Henrique who is suspended.
The game may come too soon for Super Eagles Victor Moses, who is struggling with a hamstring injury, while Michy Batshuayi and Charly Musonda are sidelined.

Qarabag likely starting XI:
Sehic, Medvedev, Huseynov, Sadiqov, Rzezniczak; Qarayev; Elyounoussi, Almeida, Michel, Guerrier; Ndlovu

Chelsea likely starting XI:
Courtois; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill; Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Kante, Alonso; Willian, Morata, Hazard

Everton striker, Oumar Niasse, has become the first Premier League footballer, to be charged with simulation by the Football Association.
Niasse won a controversial penalty in Saturday’s Premier League draw at Crystal Palace, after going down inside the box, with referee Anthony Taylor deeming the Senegalese had been fouled by Eagles defender, Scott Dann.
Leighton Baines stepped up and levelled the game, after Wilfried Zaha had opened scoring.
“Everton’s Oumar Niasse has been charged for ‘Successful Deception of a Match Official’ following the game against Crystal Palace on 18 November 2017,” a statement on the FA’s website read.
Niasse could become the first Premier League player to be hit with a retrospective ban for diving, following the introduction of the new law at the start of the season.

SPORT: Manchester United Striker Romelu Lukaku To Pay US Police Over Noise Complaints
Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has agreed to pay compensation to Beverly Hills police after they responded to five noise complaints at a house he was renting in the summer.
The 24-year-old was arrested in July – the week before United signed him from Everton for an initial £75m.
The Belgian will pay $450 (£340) to reimburse police for the callouts.
That will mean the charge is reduced from a misdemeanour, which carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail.
Instead, Lukaku will be charged with a disturbance of the peace infraction, which carries a $100 (£76) fine plus other costs and penalties.
The case will be heard again at Los Angeles Airport Courthouse on 18 December.

SPORT: North London Derby! Arsenal vs Tottenham To Meet On Saturday, @ 1:30pm (Drop Your Predictions & Win #10,000)
Arsenal and Tottenham go head to head on Sunday in the first Premier League north London derby of the 2017-18 season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs have started the season brightly by qualifying for the Champions League last-16, but sit eight points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City in the title race.
Arsenal are even further behind Spurs as Arsene Wenger’s men trail City by 12 points, sitting sixth after losing four of their opening 11 League games to put pressure on their long-serving manager.
Though there is still plenty left to play for this season, a defeat for either side would seriously dent their title ambitions before another tricky festive fixture pile-up.

Team News:
Olivier Giroud is a major doubt for Arsenal with a thigh injury picked up on international duty, though the France striker was unlikely to start the derby.
Goalkeepers Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm are both out along with defenders Toby Alderweireld (hamstring) and Jan Vertonghen (ankle), while Victor Wanyama is still battling to return – Vertonghen should recover in time, though Lloris faces a race to be fit.

Arsenal likely starting XI:
Cech; Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal; Bellerin, Ramsey, Xhaka, Kolasinac; Ozil, Sanchez; lacazette

Tottenham likely starting XI:
Tottenham starting XI: Lloris; Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Trippier, Dembele, Dier, Rose; Eriksen, Alli; Kane

Paris Saint-Germain striker, Kylian Mbappe has said that his team-mate, Neymar is “human like everyone else” after the Brazilian was reduced to tears over the weekend by the controversy that has followed him since his arrival from Barcelona.
Mbappe believes that Neymar was just as susceptible to criticism as anyone else.
“It just simply proves that he’s human like everyone else. He’s like us, he has two arms, two legs, a heart, so he can be affected by the criticism he is subjected to,” Mbappe told French television channel TF1 on Sunday.
“From the outside he gives off a certain image, he doesn’t appear to be affected… But when you’re on the inside, he opens himself up to you, he shows he’s a normal person.
“He’s incredibly strong on the pitch that you think he’s just as strong off it, but away from it he remains a normal guy,” Mbappe said.
A tearful Neymar had pleaded with the media to stop the “false stories” about his alleged frosty relations with PSG coach, Unai Emery and fellow striker, Edinson Cavani following Brazil’s 3-1 international friendly win over Japan in Lille.

SPORT: Premier League!! Mourinho Reveals When Ibrahimovic, Pogba, Rojo Will Return To Man United Squad
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has given positive updates on Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo and other injured members of his first eleven.
The manager said he is hopeful his injured players will return to fitness after the international break.
The Red Devils have been without Pogba, Ibrahimovic, Rojo, Carrick and Mouranne Fellaini, who came in as a substitute in their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Portuguese said the injured players will regain fitness before their next Premier League game against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on 18 November.
He told MUTV, “We have the group of players which are the ones that we hope will recover as soon as possible.
“They have to work every day but they are in a good position now. Pogba, Ibra, Rojo, Fellaini. They are in good positions so I think we can go into this part of the season, the Christmas period, and after, in a strong position.
“The international break means the majority of the players fly now from London to their countries. They all disappear and then we have a couple who aren’t selected for their national team, like [Chris] Smalling and [Ander] Herrera and they really deserve, after so many matches, to have a week off which I’m going to give them.”

Real Madrid is reportedly preparing a bid for Manchester United’s Juan Mata to take him back to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Express reports that the Spanish midfielder, who started his career with Los Blancos but failed to graduate from Castilla, could return in January.
Mata joined Valencia from Real Madrid team B before heading to Chelsea.
The 29-year-old was a surprise omission from Jose Mourinho’s squad in the loss 1-0 to Chelsea last weekend.
Zinedine Zidane could make a move to add a fresh identity to his squad with a potential bargain in the horizon.
Mata’s contract with the Red Devils expires next summer.

SPORT: Premier League!! ‘Matic’s Sale To Man United Was Absolute Disgrace’- Ray Wilkins Blast Chelsea

SPORT: Premier League!! ‘Matic’s Sale To Man United Was Absolute Disgrace’- Ray Wilkins Blast Chelsea
Former Chelsea assistant Ray Wilkins has slammed some of the Blues’ recent transfer dealings, particularly the club’s sale of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United.
He expressed dismay at decisions made by his old club, especially selling the Serbian to a title rival.
Matic joined United to reunite with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in the off-season, and has made a strong start in the Red Devils’ squad.
Wilkins told BBC, “The selling of Matic to Manchester United as far as I’m concerned was an absolute disgrace, because that should never have happened.
“He [Matic] is going to be the difference between Manchester United winning and Manchester United not winning this year.”
Chelsea signed Tiemoue Bakayoko for £40 million from Monaco in July, two days after allowing Nathaniel Chalobah to join Watford for £34m less.
Wilkins added, “Chalobah went for £6m. I can’t quite see that at £6m. I don’t really see the differential between Bakayoko at £40m and Chalobah at six.
“I can’t see £34m difference between the two guys. Chalobah just comes back from the Under-21 European Championships and all of a sudden he is bombed out for £6m.
“£34m comes in and we sell the best holding midfield player in the country (Matic) to one of our biggest rivals.
“I can’t really see how that happens.”
